Such rare condition that I challenge you to find another like example. It should not exist, but it does. Note that I have not added any varnish to this piece; I just conditioned the wood, as it was dry and thirsty. There is some fading with time to the etching, I almost repaired the faded lettering, but decided to leave it up to you if that is needed. It is still completely functional. Description

Antique Folk Art Farm House Etched Wood Owl Towel Rack
I acquired this amazing early antique folk art dish towel rack from the Florida estate of a long term, high end antique owl collector.
I am not sure with what Side of this piece is more impressive, the front, or the back. Both display extraordinary skill. This would be a great addition to a country kitchen
The front with it's whimsical theme of togetherness no matter the challenge really hits home after what our world has endured... "What Care We For Wind Or Weather While We Are Tied Up Together". Look closely at the scene; Every detail depicts great skill in
    rendering
    .
    The back
    offers
an array of geometric design that is just brilliant. At first I thought that this was a type of inlay, but looking closer, I believe that this is another example of burnt
    etching
    in wood. I may be
biased, but I am not sure if I have ever seen such a fine example of this type of art.

    Rack measures 9 3/4" X 8", with a 9" wide bar placement.
I will be continually adding owl themed antiques from this estate and will be glad to combine shipping.
