    Description

    Offering this uncommon bail handle pantry box. It's fairly large in size the top lid measuring just over 11.5" Diameter. The base is 11" D. Stands about just over 6.5" T. The pictures on this piece truly don't justify the look. There is an original blue worn paint on the lid. The box doesn't have the paint but displays a beautiful look. This piece has a nice patina and a worn surface. The swing bail handle is in good working condition. The wood is pretty thick and box weighs about 2lb 4oz. Top of the lid in the middle is marked/stamped and took me sometime to try and research what it said due to age and some worn over spots. Appears to be marked: " Holman Heywood Mfg. Co Fitzwilliam Depot N.H. " Just from research and looking over it time and time again at different angles and lighting is what I believe its marked. Someone had also put an HX on side of the lid and the bottom was initialed AK. They're clearly an old marking and probably the 1st owner of the box. Only apologies noticed are as seen at the base of the nail construction and on the side base a half inch line from nail going thru. There is nothing loose on this piece. Is as found and purchased from an Illinois picker whom purchased in Maine. Expect some wear, aging, nice patina paint and surface, few imperfections consistent with age and a sweet bail handle pantry box. Message me for more questions before you bid or purchase.
