FRESH FROM AN OLD COLLECTION.
A FANTASTIC EARLY 19TH CENTURY Cast and Forged Iron "HANGING MINERS" Lamp with the RARE "HEART" KNOB. Pennsylvania, Early 19th century, circa 1800-1820, in great old original black paint and wonderful patina.
IT HAS ITS Original MOLDED shaped handle as well as its original large hanging hook WITH A SERPENTS HEAD END.
THE ABSOLUTE BEST FULLY DIMENSIONAL Wrought Iron HEART Securing Knob is all original. This great lamp even retains its original and VERY RARE IRON nipple filler and spout lip.
Most Miner's Lamp were fabricated of heavy cast iron to withstand the physical abuse associated with that profession. The extremely heavy hanging hook is also common with this type of lamp. What is not common is the add PENNSYLVANIA GERMAN HEART SHAPED DECORATION.
FANTASTIC ORIGINAL GRUNGY BLACK PAINT.
The lamp is 7 1/4" tall without the hanging handle, 15" with it. The pan is 5" across.
This is the one of the BEST Miner's Lamp I've seen in a very long time.
Typical wear and imperfections with age as described above.
