    Description
    Here is a nice 19th century, pre 1900 in date sailor made set of ten whale shaped game counters with the original box in good condition. The oxbone and wood surfaces have a nice patina from age and the lid opens and closes nicely with a small shaped oxbone handle. Game counters were used for gambling etc to represent money. The back of the box has an old repair which can also be seen in the photos. Originally from Edinburgh Scotland from a maritime collection. Each counter measures 1.8 inches long and 21mm's wide. The box measures 9.5 inches long and 2.3 inches wide
