    Description

    Primitive Wood and Iron Dry Grain Measure
    Great large, circular half bushel dry grain measure with the look of honest use and wear. This wooden measure is likely of European origin as it is marked 2 l(-itres? Though that is definitely NOT the capacity). This measure has lovely overall patina and is constructed in a style of metal banding seen in similar German primitives. Not sure what kind of wood is used but it has a fine grain w/o knots.
    SIZE:
    14" diameter x 9" tall. Weighs just over 5 lbs unboxed.
    CONDITION:
    Fantastic primitive condition with expected use and wear marks. Appears to be original finish with no attempts made to clean up the wood or metal. Several nails/tacks/screws used to hold the metal bands in place are gone. (A few tack points are exposed inside so please use care.) At the point where the metal bands cross on the bottom there is some loss. Carrying handle is fixed and secure.
