A GREAT PAIR
OF OVAL SHAPED Tinned Iron Candle Sconces, Probably New England, Circa 1800-1820.
OVAL SHAPED WITH A SIMPLE DASH CRIMP ON THE SURROUND, THEY HAVE A ROLLED ARM AND A CRIMPED DRIP PAN with SEAMED AND ROLLED CANDLE CUPS ALL IN THE WONDERFUL UNTOUCHED OLD SURFACE AND PATINA.
GREAT PAIR OF EARLY TIN CANDLE SCONCES IN THE CLASSIC FORM AND IN WONDERFUL SURFACE.
The scrolled support arms are nicely shaped and the crimped candle drip pans and holders are in near perfect condition.
As for condition they are about as PERFECT as you can hope for. Every solder joint is original and intact, the original holes are all original and there are no repairs, restorations, or additions.
IT HAS GREAT OLD PATINA AND COLOR THROUGHOUT.
These sconces are 9 3/4" tall, and are 6 3/4" wide and will hang about 5" from the wall.
Typical wear and tear associated with an item of this age. As with any pair there are very subtle differences in design and surface wear. There is some very minor surface losses as seen.
