BIG Early Antique Handmade Tin Canteen Patina Civil War? AAFA

For your consideration, I am very pleased to offer this fantastic old antique handmade canteen. Made entirely of tin, it has a large form and a dark, untouched patina. I was told this is a Civil War canteen, but this is not my area of expertise, so please be the judge. It is completely intact with its lid present and fully functional. For its age, it is in good condition, but it does show expected signs of age, wear and use, including surface abrasions and some dents/dings, primarily to one side. It comes to you ready for display from a smoke free home, and it measures approximately 9.75 inches tall
