Antique Stephen Sweeney James River Va. "cloud motif" country storage crock.

Description

What a great find Stephen Sweeney's handy work and classic blue cobalt hand painted cloud motif on the front and back of the jar. Each of it's sturdy lug handles are highlighted in a blue cobalt wash. These crocks were made to stand the test of time, quiet heavy and weighs a little over 14 lbs.  Appears to be a 3 gallon capacity. No body cracks, does have a nick at top rim and a small area line on the very top rim. Absolutely a great jar and a difficult to find item. You don't see these come across ebay everyday. Stands 14" tall. Great colors and looks great in those primitive displays.
