Antique SINGLE BRASS QUEEN ANNE CANDLESTICK w PETAL BASE, c. 1740-60s

Description

This is a fine quality single brass Queen Anne candlestick with petal base, circa 1740 to 1760s, or so, and made in England for the American market. Candlestick is 7 3/8" high with a 4 3/8" square base, and it is in excellent original condition with no damage and no repairs. It has not been polished in a great many years giving it good old color with a fine patina from age and use. The stick is solid with no looseness where the stem meets the base, and it has never been soldered at that junction. It stands straight with no lean. The stems of most of these sticks were cast in 2 sections and then brazed together, and you can see a seam if you look closely. The base has some old spots of oxidation or staining that could be removed if you decide to polish this candlestick. This was just found in New England, Shipping is .50 Priority mail.
