    Description

This is what I believe to be an antique primitive hand forged/wrought iron traveling and folding kettle /cooking stand.
This is a very early piece. I am fairly certain it dates from at least the 19th century. It was suggested to me it could be 18th century. Please use your judgment.
It measures approximately 7 1/2 inches tall x approximately 18 inches wide (19 cm, 45.7 cm).
There is no solder used on this piece. Most of it is attached with metal dowels.
A magnet does not stick to the cylindrical covering piece at the center, so I believe that one piece is brass.
It can be folded up, though it is still about 7 1/2 inches wide (19 cm) when folded.
It does have some issues. It is covered in surface rust. It does not stand evenly. One of the feet is about 1/2 inch above the ground. Another leg is fairly crooked and a few other legs are a little crooked. They can actually move around a little bit so it’s hard to tell exactly. Three of the pieces on top are missing.
Even given its problems, it has an incredible look about it! I wish I knew exactly what it was used for and when.
It weighs a little over 2 lbs. 8 oz. (1.14 kg).
