    Description
    My three girls have no interest in the business so my five year old grandson (who is interested in antiques and dinosaurs) will be working with me for the next few weeks on a trial basis. He is trying to raise money to buy new dinosaurs. I made a deal with him that he could pick and list one item per week and that he could keep half of the money and the other half he will donate to a local school system. I told him that he will have to pick out the item, describe it and help with the photographs and listing.
    I will list his description first and then clarify if needed in the description.
    THIS IS A OLD CANDLE MAKER OUT OF TIN.
    IT WAS USED BACK IN THE COLONIAL TIMES TO MAKE CANDLES. CANDLES WERE MADE OUT OF BEESWAX. YOU WOULD PUT THE WICK FOR THE CANDLE IN THIS MOLD AND THEN YOU WOULD MELT THE WAX AND POUR IT INTO THESE MOLDS. WHEN THEY DRIED THEY WOULD BE CANDLES.
    It has a handle to carry it and a small hook on the top to hang it on the wall while the candles were drying.
    IT HAS A HANDLE TO HOLD ONTO AND IT IS VERY LIGHT.
    IT LOOKS VERY OLD AND I THINK IT IS ABOUT 200 YEARS OLD.
    IT IS VERY OLD, I THINK ABOUT 200 YEARS OLD AND IT IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION. THERE IS NOTHING BROKEN OR MISSING BUT IT IS A LITTLE BIT DIRTY.
    IN THE OLD DAYS YOU COULD NOT JUST GO TO TJ MAXX AND BUY CANDLES, YOU HAD TO MAKE THEM YOURSELF.
    THIS ONE LET YOU MAKE FOUR CANDLES AT ONCE. PAPPY SHOWED ME ANOTHER ONE HE HAS THAT LETS YOU MAKE 64 CANDLES BUT THAT ONE IS NOT FOR SALE.
    IT IS 9 1/2" LONG AND 5" ACROSS. THE HOLE FOR THE CANDLES ARE 3/4".
    A VERY NICE EARLY 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN TIN FOUR HOLE CANDLE MOLD IN OLD COLOR AND SURFACE PATINA.
    New England, circa 1820-1840.
    A NICE EARLY FORM WITH AN APPLIED HANDLE AND A HANGING RING.
    GREAT OLD GRUNGY SURFACE AND PATINA.
    IT IS IN FINE CONDITION WITH NO BREAKS OR SPLITS.
    5" across AND 9 1/2" tall.
